Bowls: Greens & Grounds

Killarney is one of only two bowling clubs in the JBA district with four greens.
One of these is equipped with six overhead lights allowing for night bowls at any convenient time (go to NIGHT BOWLS).

The four greens are kept in pristine condition at all times by a dedicated Green Keeper and the committee Greens Ranger and backed by full-time, well trained grounds staff.

Morning play is usually from North to South and in the afternoons from East to West.
This cyclical process and the regular moving of rink positions facilitates even wear and tear across the full surface of the green.

Our banks of naturally grown Kikuyu grass are amongst the best in the district.

In the winter off-season months (May to August) one green at a time will be closed for resting, levelling and restoration work. This practice ensures the longevity and peak performance through the summer season.

The grounds surrounding the greens are well kept and continuously manicured and can be compared favourably to any other bowls club anywhere.
