Bowls: CGBA/JBAThe Johannesburg Bowling Association (JBA) was previously known as The Central Gauteng Bowling Association (CGBA) and prior to that as The Southern Transvaal Bowling Association (STBA).
The JBA is an organisation which acts as the controlling body over all registered member bowling clubs in the Gauteng Province.
It organises and controls inter-club tournaments including annual summer Saturday and Wednesday leagues for both men and women.
Staffed by a small team of dedicated people and backed by a team of voluntary people who are specialists in the various aspects of the sport of bowls. These include umpires, greens experts, coaches and other technical officials.
The JBA acts as a mediator and adjudicator of disputes and disagreements between clubs and/ or individual members of clubs.
The JBA has regulatory powers and member clubs are, in most cases, obliged to comply with their rulings.
