Night Bowls
Bowls: Night BowlsNIGHT BOWLS AT KILLARNEY
With lights on only one green, this popular tournament is often over-subscribed. Open to club members as well as outsiders, teams are accepted on a “first come-first served” basis.
Eligibility for teams of men, women and mixed rinks opens availability to all bowlers. A reserve list of individual players who were not able to make teams is always on hand in case of any player not being able to play on any particular night.
The tournament is played in the latter half of summer depending on weather conditions from 19h00 on Thursday nights and usually lasts about 2 hours.
Playing format is 15 ends in 3 sets of 5 ends each and scored out of 20 points as follows:
| 1 point per end | 15 points |
| 1 points per set | 3 points |
| 2 points per game | 2 points |
| Total | 20 points |
The first round is selected by an open draw and the following rounds on a “winners play winners” and “losers play losers” basis with the express provision that no teams will play each other twice.
A bowl of soup and a selection of breads after the games is a wonderful end to an enjoyable evening.
