The best way to describe the characteristics of the Killarney Country Club golf course would be that it is a narrow park-style course with a premium on driving accuracy. It is a Robert Trent-Jones design and is a challenging and well manicured par 70 layout of 6154m for men and a par 72 for the ladies playing at 5294m. The greens are fairly generous in size which gives you a good chance of scoring well when playing from the fairways.  However, miss a fairway and you can almost be sure of having to play a recovery shot from amongst the trees.

The Club is perfectly situated just off the M1 highway with the main clubhouse positioned between the 11th Avenue and Glenhove Street offramps.  This makes the Club very central and easy to get to, with safe and secure parking available.

Our Director of Golf, Brendan Walsh, describes Killarney Country Club as a good golf course but as an absolutely fantastic golf club.  What makes the Club so special is it's members.  It is one of the few clubs where members play with different members every week.  A common practice in the bar after golf on a Saturday evening is to see the members pulling out their diaries and walking aroung the bar making games with different people for the weeks ahead.  It definitely has a very special VIBE!

To make the experience at Killarney Country Club a special one, there have some changes recently.  The first was the arrival of our new golf professional, Warrick Druian.  A former Sun Shine tour professional who won the Telkom PGA in 2004 and the Hollard Royal Swazi Open in 1997.  Warrick has one of the best on-course shops around, always well stocked with great deals and service to match.

There is nothing better than having a pub lunch or a sundowner after golf on the verandah overlooking the 18th green and dam - a bit of paradise in Joburg.

You will also experience friendly staff from the moment you book in 'til your final drink in the bar - this is what makes Killarney such a great club.

So, if you're looking for a club to join, why don't you come and enjoy the experience and hospitality of our Club with one of our weekday specials.  If you tee-off before 08:00 on a Tuesday to Friday (excluding public holidays) you only pay R155.00 for 18 holes or if you have an official handicap then join us on a Thursday afternoon for the Killarney Pro Shop day where you pay R215.00 for 18 holes including competition.

Besides the golf course, the Club also offers Bowls, Tennis, Squash, a gymnasium and a swimming pool.

What makes Killarney Country Club not just a country club is that it's more like a home away from home.
